Mini Cakes
I was asked to make a cake for 45 ladies at a "journey from girl to Womanhood" ladies breakfast and when it came to deciding on one theme, I hit a blank. Instead, I decided to make each lady her own mini cake....Making 45 cakes instead of one was quite a challenge but the reward was seeing their faces when they each received their own cake.

Thank you to my Good friend Joletta for the last two pics inserted (labelled ladies breakfast)http://photocreation.synthasite.com/

Beach Theme Wedding Cake
Wedding Cakes are quite daunting for me. It is a couple's one special day and you have become a huge player in the whole day. Small details can be overlooked but the the dress and the cake are on most people's (women especially) list of things to critique; and then of course there's pleasing the bride herself. I still become a crazed bundle of nerves the day the cake is delivered and I'm not too sure if and when that will ever pass.
Today's wedding cake was for a beach wedding; elegant with pastel shades and here's what we managed to put together for her.

Welcome to The Koek Sista
My baking "career" began almost ten years ago when my first child was born. When it was time for "cake occasions" I couldn't help feeling that the only way I could make his special moments more special was to bake his cakes myself. I had the urge to create personal cakes for his milestones that he would love AND be able to say "my Mommy made it for me". It was somehow my way of saying/showing him how very much I loved him. It was personal.
I enrolled myself on a cake baking and decorating course a few months before his first birthday and I was hooked. 9 years and 3 kids later I still love baking for my children and family for their special occasions and have been convinced by my friends and family to extend my passion for that special personal cake for others too. I am still by no means an expert but I love the challenge of each new request and strive to deliver my very best every time.
Here are a few cakes I have made over time and I hope to be able to share many more with you.
